Incorporating www.business-advice.org.uk - The On Line Register of Business Consultants Add your consultancy
This site was started in 1998 at the introduction of National Lottery funding to ensure that arts organisations had a ready choice of consultants with the right type of experience and skills needed, whilst trying to avoid any insufficiently qualified person who might only be attracted by the lottery money available.
It was first commissioned by the English Regional Arts Boards and The Scottish Arts Council who funded it until 2003 – I (Derek Handy) have managed the site for them since 1998 – and from 2004 I have operated the site in my name with an agreement from Arts Council England and The Scottish Arts Council. The site is now funded by an annual subscription from it’s members. This avoids indirectly charging anyone who does not want to use or be part of the site.

Important - whilst we regularly check the validity of the consultant entries

  • we can offer no guarantee of their services
  • we do not recommend one consultant over another –
  • the database is not a comprehensive list of suitable available consultants in any discipline.

The site is free to use.

You can Search for Consultants yourself.

You can Advertise for a Consultant (or part time and full time vacancies) on line and we will publish the details in our Consultants Needed section and tell all of our registered consultants.

The on line register is updated daily and we we produce a printed version (which has reduced detail) for arts organisations on request. This is generally updated on a monthly basis. We are constantly making sure that the site is prominently displayed - for instance when looking for Arts Consultants on the Internet search engines then our site regularly is at Number One in the listings.
